Mrs. Phoebe B.
Riley, 85 of 709 W. Main St died at 7 a.m. yesterday. She was a member of the
Prairie Avenue Christian Church and Golden Crown Camp of Royal Neighbors. She
moved to Decatur from Wheeler, Ill 40 years ago. She was born April 2, 1867 in
Putnam County, Indiana a daughter of Alex and Emily Wilson. She was married in
1886 to James S. Riley who died in 1930.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Ruth C. Burg, Decatur; Mrs. Winifred
Clark, Hollywood; Mrs. Delia Huckles, San Antonio, Tex; two sons, Alex, Decatur
and Adlia, Quincy; a sister, Mrs. Lena Buckmaster, Wheeler; 18 grandchildren
and 28 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in JJ
Moran & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call after 4 p.m. today. Burial
will be in Graceland Cemetery.
